Exhibition Hall LED Screen scaled

Peach Prime Consultancy will be at TAAPE 2026 in Bangkok this October, and not only as a visitor. We have been invited to present a session on new trends in family entertainment centres at the Thailand (Bangkok) Amusement & Attraction Parks Expo, which runs from 29 to 31 October 2026 at IMPACT Exhibition Centre. This post previews what we will cover, explains how to meet our team during the show, and gives Indian operators, developers and investors the practical information they need to plan the trip.

If you are still deciding whether to attend, our earlier post on why Indian buyers should visit TAAPE 2026 makes the case. This one assumes you are coming.

What the Session Will Cover

Family entertainment centres are changing faster than most of the venues built five years ago can keep up with. The session draws on Peach Prime’s work designing FECs, social entertainment centres, adventure parks and edutainment venues across India, and on what we see happening in Southeast Asia, to answer a practical question: if you were opening an FEC in 2027, what would you build? Five shifts sit at the centre of the talk.

1. From FEC to SEC: the adult guest is the growth story

The classic FEC was built for children with parents as paying spectators. The venues growing fastest today treat adults as guests in their own right, with competitive socialising formats, evening trading, better food and drink, and a design language that does not embarrass a thirty-five-year-old on a Friday night. We will show how the social entertainment centre model changes the layout, the revenue mix and the target catchment, and where it works in an Indian mall.

2. Active, competitive and tech-layered play

Trampoline parks proved that active play sells. The next generation adds competition and technology: ninja and climbing arenas with timed courses, augmented reality laser combat, mixed reality arenas, motion simulators and holographic gaming. The session looks at which of these formats hold repeat visitation, which are novelty purchases, and how much floor area and ceiling height each one really needs.

3. Edutainment, role-play and the family dwell-time engine

Role-play mini cities, children’s discovery zones and STEM-led attractions are pulling families into FECs on weekday afternoons, not only weekends. We will share how edutainment zones are being designed to sit alongside arcade and soft play without diluting either, and why schools and birthday parties have become a planning input rather than an afterthought.

4. Food, parties and memberships: the revenue mix behind the attractions

Ticketed play is no longer the whole business. Food and beverage, party rooms, memberships, corporate events and retail now carry a large share of a well-run FEC’s revenue, and the venues that plan for this from the first sketch outperform those that add a cafe at the end. The talk covers adjacency, kitchen sizing, party-room ratios and the cashless and data systems that make the mix measurable.

5. Designing for the climate, the mall and the tenth year

India and Southeast Asia share hot, humid conditions, high footfall and power costs that punish careless design. We will close with the engineering and operational decisions that decide whether an FEC still looks and runs well in year ten: air handling, finishes, maintainability of imported equipment, spare-parts strategy, and the deal structures that make an FEC a durable anchor for a mall or township rather than a short-lived tenant.

Every attendee will leave with a one-page checklist for evaluating an FEC concept, which is also the checklist we use when clients bring us a supplier proposal collected on the show floor.

Why We Are Presenting in Bangkok

Thailand is one of the most instructive FEC markets in Asia. Bangkok’s malls have integrated indoor playgrounds, edutainment and social gaming venues at a level of finish and operational discipline that Indian developers are only now aiming for, and Thai operators face the same climate, family demographics and mall-driven real estate model that shape projects in India. Speaking at TAAPE 2026 lets us test what we are seeing on Indian projects against the Southeast Asian experience, and bring that comparison back to our clients.

The show itself is also a working environment for us. Between the session and our meetings, our team will be walking Halls 9 and 10 to review the ride, water play, soft play and technology suppliers exhibiting this year, so that when clients ask which of them is worth a second look, the answer is based on a conversation at the stand rather than a catalogue.

Meet Peach Prime at TAAPE 2026

We are keeping time free on all three days for meetings with operators, developers and investors who have a project in mind, whether it is a first FEC in a Tier-2 city, an entertainment anchor for a mall, a water park on a highway site or a theme park masterplan. To book a slot, email info@peachprime.in with “TAAPE 2026 meeting” in the subject line, tell us the project type and location, and say which day suits you.

Bring a site plan if you have one, even a rough one. Twenty minutes with a plan on the table produces more useful advice than an hour of description, and if you are carrying supplier quotations from the show floor, we are happy to look at those too.

A note on the venue: IMPACT Muang Thong Thani is a large complex made up of IMPACT Exhibition Centre, IMPACT Challenger, IMPACT Forum and IMPACT Arena. TAAPE 2026 is in Halls 9 and 10 of the Exhibition Centre building, so tell your taxi driver “IMPACT Exhibition Hall 9” rather than just “IMPACT”.

Getting to Bangkok and to the Venue

Non-stop flights operate to Bangkok from Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad and Kolkata, with more cities added every season, and flight times run from about two and a half hours from Kolkata to around four and a half hours from Delhi or Mumbai. Thailand is one and a half hours ahead of Indian Standard Time.

Which airport you land at matters for this show. Don Mueang (DMK), the low-cost carrier hub, sits on the northern side of the city about 15 to 20 minutes by taxi from IMPACT. Suvarnabhumi (BKK), which handles most full-service airlines, is roughly 45 minutes to an hour away by expressway, and longer in evening traffic. If you fly a budget airline, check which airport it uses; landing at Don Mueang can save you an hour on arrival day.

  • Taxi or Grab: the easiest door-to-door option from either airport or downtown. Grab quotes a fixed fare in the app and avoids language issues. Ask for IMPACT Exhibition Centre, Hall 9.
  • MRT Pink Line: the Pink Line monorail now has a two-station extension into Muang Thong Thani. Ride the Pink Line to Muang Thong Thani station (PK10), transfer to the extension, and get off at IMPACT Muang Thong Thani station (MT01), which is linked to the venue by a skybridge. From downtown, connect to the Pink Line via the BTS Sukhumvit (Green) or MRT Purple lines.
  • Where to stay: Novotel Bangkok IMPACT and the more affordable ibis Bangkok IMPACT are within walking distance of every hall. Hotels along Chaeng Watthana Road and near the Muang Thong Thani stations are a sensible middle ground; Sukhumvit and Siam mean a commute of 45 minutes to over an hour each way in peak traffic.

Arrive on the evening of Wednesday 28 October if you can. The first morning is when suppliers are freshest and stands are least crowded, and it is worth being in the hall when the doors open at 10:00.

Entry Formalities: TDAC and Documents

Every foreign visitor must complete the Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC) online at tdac.immigration.go.th within 72 hours before arrival; it is free, takes a few minutes, and the confirmation should be saved on your phone. Carry a passport with at least six months’ validity, a return or onward ticket, your hotel booking and a company visiting card. The visa rule for Indian passport holders changed more than once during 2026 and revised measures were still awaiting Royal Gazette publication when this was written, so confirm the position on the Royal Thai Embassy (New Delhi) website before booking; our earlier post covers the background.

A Two-Day Plan Built Around the Session

Three days is the show’s length, but two organised days are enough to cover Halls 9 and 10 properly, and the third day is better spent seeing attractions in the city.

Before you leave India

Write a one-page sourcing brief: the project type, the site size, the target opening date, the budget band for each attraction category and the five product categories you must see. Add a scoring sheet with the same columns for every supplier. Comparing quotations that are not on the same basis is how buyers end up over-paying, or buying the wrong ride.

Day one: survey, shortlist, and the session

Walk both halls end to end without stopping for long conversations. Photograph every relevant stand, including the company nameplate and the specification board, so the photos label themselves. After lunch, return to the fifteen or twenty stands that matched your brief for first conversations: what the product is, who has bought it in South or Southeast Asia, the indicative price, and who the decision-maker is. Build the Peach Prime session into whichever day it falls on; the checklist we hand out is designed to be used on the floor the same afternoon.

Day two: go deep

Return only to the shortlist. Ask for technical data sheets, throughput figures, foundation and power requirements, certification documents, spare-parts lists and reference sites, and request written quotations with delivery terms. This is also the day to discuss combinations, such as a slide tower supplier and a pool filtration company, or a soft play manufacturer and an arcade operator, who can be packaged into one contract.

Day three: benchmark in the real world

Bangkok is one of the best cities in Asia to see attractions operating at scale. Siam Amazing Park combines a theme park and water park on one site, Dream World is a long-running family theme park north of the city, SEA LIFE Bangkok Ocean World sits below Siam Paragon, and the city’s malls host some of the region’s most polished indoor playgrounds and FECs, including the Harborland chain. Watching how these venues handle queues, food and beverage, cleaning and retail tells you more than any brochure, and it is the best possible follow-up to the FEC trends session.

The Questions to Ask Every Supplier

Use this list at every serious conversation on the floor. The answers go straight into your scoring sheet.

  • Which safety standards is the product certified to, and can you show the certificate? For rides, look for EN 13814 or ASTM F24; for water slides, EN 1069 or ASTM F2376; for playground and soft play equipment, EN 1176; for electrical systems, CE or the relevant IEC marks.
  • What is the hourly throughput at realistic loading, not the theoretical maximum?
  • What footprint, clearance envelope, foundation loads, power supply and water demand does the product need? Your master plan and civil design depend on these numbers.
  • Where are your nearest installations in India or in a hot, humid climate, and can we speak to the operator?
  • What is included in the price: design, supervision of installation, commissioning, operator training, first-year spares?
  • What are the delivery lead time, the payment schedule and the Incoterms? An ex-works price in Guangzhou and a delivered price at your site in India are very different numbers once freight, insurance, customs duty and GST are added.
  • How is after-sales support provided in India, who stocks spares, and what is the warranty period?
  • Can the theming, colours and capacity be customised, and what does customisation add to cost and lead time?

Practical Tips for Indian Visitors

Late October is the tail end of Bangkok’s rainy season: expect 25 to 33 degrees, humid afternoons and the occasional heavy shower, so carry a compact umbrella. Cards are accepted almost everywhere, but keep some Thai baht in cash for taxis and food courts. Buy a tourist SIM or eSIM at the airport, because most supplier conversations continue on WhatsApp and WeChat within hours. Thailand runs on 220 V and most sockets take flat or round two-pin plugs, so a two-pin Indian charger works but a three-pin plug needs an adapter. English is spoken comfortably at the show, and many Chinese exhibitors bring English-speaking sales staff, but a translation app helps with technical details.
