Peach Prime Consultancy is designing and curating the District Science Museum at Kheda – part of Gujarat’s District Science Centre programme under the Department of Science and Technology. Our scope spans the complete visitor experience: storyline development, exhibit design and curation, gallery theming, interactive and immersive experiences, and end-to-end AV integration. The Centre is organized as three thematic galleries – Bio-Science & Ecology, Physical Sciences & Innovation, and a Regional Gallery – where universal science is taught through Kheda’s own fields, wetlands, rivers and industries, and where India’s space story gets a district-level home.
The curatorial vision: to inspire scientific inquiry – especially in young minds – by connecting science to Kheda’s agricultural, ecological, geological and industrial heritage, nurturing curiosity, sustainability and pride in local achievement.
Kheda’s curatorial arc is deliberately wide. It begins in the district’s fields – where a farmers’ movement helped shape modern India – and ends at the edge of space. Visitors move from bullock-driven tools and traditional irrigation to hydroponics and drone-based farming, from the Pariyej wetland’s migratory birds to satellite tracking, from fossils in the Mahi’s riverbanks to a Mars rover simulator. The message built into the museum’s journey: the same curiosity that improved a harvest can reach another planet.
Kheda’s Regional Gallery takes on a curatorial challenge few museums attempt: presenting the district’s defining industries with scientific honesty. Kheda’s Tobacco Farming traces cultivation from its Mughal-era origins through soil cycles, crop growth simulators and curing science – and pairs the economics with the health impacts, using debate zones and farmer stories to engage visitors in critical thinking rather than simple celebration. Kheda’s Timber Legacy tells the story of the district’s timber and packaging trade with wood identification booths, mini-sawmill models, export route maps and sustainability quizzes. Local Stories & Industry Voices closes the gallery with farmer and entrepreneur interviews, market simulations and documentary films – connecting community livelihoods to future opportunity.
Every exhibit follows the design rule we apply across the District Science Centre programme: nothing is only for reading. Simulators – Mars rover, bird migration, drip irrigation, tide and erosion – sit alongside tactile fossil and soil stations, immersive soundscapes, astronaut training challenges and debate zones, all running on a coordinated AV backbone of projection, immersive audio, interactive kiosks and digital timelines designed together with the exhibit content. The architecture lets operators refresh content, add languages and stage seasonal programming without redesigning the galleries.
What is the District Science Museum, Kheda?
A district science centre in Kheda, Gujarat with three thematic galleries and ten signature exhibits – spanning agriculture, wetland ecology, river geology, space exploration, sustainability, mathematics, emerging technology and the district’s tobacco and timber industries.
What is Peach Prime’s role in the project?
Peach Prime Consultancy is delivering museum design and curation: exhibit design, storyline development, gallery theming, interactive experience design and AV integration.
What makes the exhibits interactive?
Visitors drive a Mars rover, train as astronauts, track satellites and migrating birds, run irrigation and biotech farming simulations, dig fossils, operate erosion and tide tables, compose mathematical music and control robots – every gallery is participatory by design.
How does the museum handle a sensitive topic like tobacco farming?
With honest curation: the exhibit presents cultivation science and economic importance alongside documented health impacts, and uses debate zones and farmer stories to build critical thinking rather than one-sided messaging.
Peach Prime Consultancy designs and curates museums, science centres, galleries and immersive visitor attractions across India – from concept notes, storylines and exhibit curation to theming, interactive experience design, AV integration and lighting. Whether you are planning a district science centre, a children’s museum or a cultural heritage experience, our team delivers the complete journey from first storyboard to opening day.
