Peach Prime Consultancy is designing and curating the District Science Museum at Sabarkantha – part of Gujarat’s District Science Centre programme under the Department of Science and Technology. Our scope covers the museum’s complete visitor experience: storyline development, exhibit design and curation, gallery theming, interactive and immersive experiences, and end-to-end AV integration. The Centre is organized as three thematic galleries – Bio-Science & Ecology, Physical Sciences & Innovation, and a Regional Gallery – housing twelve signature exhibits and more than 45 interactive zones, where every gallery teaches universal science through the lens of Sabarkantha itself.
The curatorial vision: to inspire scientific curiosity and environmental responsibility by connecting visitors with Sabarkantha’s natural, agricultural, geological and cultural heritage – cultivating pride in local identity while opening a gateway to universal science.
Most science centres could exist anywhere. Sabarkantha’s could only exist here. The curatorial approach roots every scientific concept in the district’s landscape and life: ecology is taught through Polo Forest, hydrogeology through the Sabarmati, agricultural science through the district’s own millets, cotton and groundnut, astronomy and climate through Sabarkantha’s position on the Tropic of Cancer, and materials science through the terracotta and textile traditions of its Garasia, Bhil and Rabari communities. This place-based curation makes abstract science instantly familiar – visitors see their own forests, farms and festivals reflected in every gallery.
Two signature exhibits anchor the museum in Sabarkantha’s unique identity. Celestial Connection – Tropic of Cancer turns the district’s latitude into a story of astronomy, climate, seasons and agriculture, with an interactive globe, climate simulation stations and solstice celebrations. Artistic Heritage celebrates the district’s living craft traditions – terracotta and votive figure-making, Rabari and Marwada embroidery, Garasia tribal art – with hands-on clay and embroidery workshops, live artisan demonstrations, a cultural storytelling corner, and a VR experience that immerses visitors in a Garasia tribal festival while supporting local artisan livelihoods.
Every exhibit follows a simple design rule: nothing is only for reading. The interpretive plan layers physical interactives, touchscreen simulations, dioramas and live demonstrations with a coordinated AV backbone – projection, immersive audio soundscapes, digital microscopy feeds, VR headsets and game-based learning stations. AV, lighting and theming are designed together with the exhibit content, so technology serves the story rather than distracting from it – and so the museum’s operators can update content, add languages and refresh experiences over time.
What is the District Science Museum, Sabarkantha?
A district science centre in Sabarkantha, Gujarat with three thematic galleries and twelve signature exhibits – from environmental conservation and biotechnology to robotics, mathematics and the district’s tribal art heritage.
What is Peach Prime’s role in the project?
Peach Prime Consultancy is delivering museum design and curation: exhibit design, storyline development, gallery theming, interactive experience design and AV integration.
What makes the exhibits interactive?
Visitors control robots, chat with an AI, extract-and-edit genes in simulation, diagnose diseases, design irrigation systems, sculpt terracotta, try tribal embroidery and step into a VR tribal festival – every gallery is hands-on by design.
Why does a science museum include art and culture galleries?
Because craft is applied science: terracotta is materials science and thermodynamics, embroidery is geometry, and traditional farming is ecology. Curating them together connects the district’s heritage to the scientific principles behind it.
Peach Prime Consultancy designs and curates museums, science centres, galleries and immersive visitor attractions across India – from concept notes, storylines and exhibit curation to theming, interactive experience design, AV integration and lighting. Whether you are planning a district science centre, a children’s museum or a cultural heritage experience, our team delivers the complete journey from first storyboard to opening day.
