EXECUTED PROJECTS

External Exhibits – Astronomy and Space Science Gallery, Science City, Ahmedabad

The External Exhibits at the Astronomy and Space Science Gallery, Science City, Ahmedabad, executed by CCEL, offer a blend of education, innovation, and hands-on learning. These outdoor installations extend the gallery’s reach, providing visitors with engaging, large-scale exhibits that bring the wonders of space science to life.

Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle (PSLV) Model

A stunning 1:3 scale replica of India’s renowned Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle (PSLV) welcomes visitors to explore the marvels of ISRO’s achievements. Known as the workhorse of India’s space program, this model showcases the intricate design and engineering behind one of the most reliable and versatile launch vehicles. It highlights India’s contributions to satellite deployment and space exploration.

360° Bicycle

The 360° Bicycle provides an exhilarating experience, blending fun with fundamental physics. Visitors, securely fastened by staff, ride a fixed-gear bicycle mounted on a 360-degree loop-the-loop pivot mechanism. By pedalling, they control their speed and rotations, experiencing concepts like centripetal force and inertia in a thrilling, interactive way.

Human-Powered Tellurion

The Human-Powered Tellurion invites visitors to step into a model of the Sun and become an active participant in driving the solar system. As they move, they witness the Earth and Moon orbiting around them, gaining a dynamic understanding of planetary motion and the mechanics of celestial bodies.

Jantar Mantar

Explore the ingenuity of ancient Indian astronomy with a 1:3 scale replica of the Misra Yantra from Jantar Mantar, New Delhi. This working model demonstrates how ancient tools were used to measure time and observe celestial events, offering visitors an immersive look into India’s astronomical heritage.

Meteor Exhibit

The Meteor Exhibit features a meticulously detailed replica of a meteorite. Visitors can observe the unique textures and features of this extraterrestrial rock, learning about its composition and its journey through space before arriving on Earth.

Celestial Globe

The Celestial Globe is a stunning representation of the heavens, featuring a spherical framework of rings centered on Earth. These rings depict celestial longitude and latitude, the ecliptic, and other important astronomical features. It provides a visual guide to how early astronomers mapped the night sky in relation to our planet.
